Bereavement 

The death sadly occurred on Friday, June 7, of Mrs. Eleanor Marsh (nee: O’Halloran), Oak Drive, Hillview, Waterford, formerly of St. John’s Park, late of Londis, Cleaboy.

Predeceased by her loving parents James and Bridie, brothers Tim, Jim and Liam. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin, sons Alan and Eric, sisters Ann, Margaret and Therese, brothers Sean and Eugene, her grandson Sonny and Eric’s partner Marie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and especially her close forever friends from St. John’s Park. 

Eleanor will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends. Requiem Mass took place on Tuesday June 11, in The Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, with burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner. Condolences are extended to Eleanor's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Free Tai Chi Classes

Free Tai Chi classes will be commencing at Butler Community Centre, in Saint John’s Park, Waterford on Wednesday, June 19, from 6pm to 7pm. There will also be classes beginning on Friday, June 21, from 9am to 10am. For more information on these evening and morning classes or to book a place contact 051 876907.

This ancient Chinese martial art form offers a holistic approach to wellness, combining gentle movements, deep breathing, and focused meditation. In our class, you will learn the graceful and flowing sequences of Tai Chi, promoting balance, flexibility, and inner peace. Under the guidance of our experienced Chinese instructor, Ying He, you will discover the principles and philosophy behind this centuries-old practice. The classes are being sponsored by Waterford Wexford Education and Training Board and Butler Community Centre CLG. 

Charity Bingo

Bingo in aid of the Parkinson's Association will be held every Monday evening in the Butler Community Centre. Eyes down at 7.45pm and the cost will be €8 per book. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Car Boot Sale

The car boot sale at Butler Community Centre, in St John's Park, takes place on the last Saturday of every month, from 11.30am to 3.30pm 

The next one will be held on Saturday, June 22. Swap items, donate to support SVP (Society of St. Vincent de Paul Ireland). Bring your unwanted items and turn them into opportunities for a good cause. The sellers feel is €5 (payable in cash on the day).

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga takes place every Thursday, from 11am to 12pm, in Butler Community Centre. 

Chair Yoga is inclusive to people of all abilities and offer everyone the opportunity to take part and benefit from all Yoga has to offer. The cost is €40 for six weeks and more information can be had by contacting Lisa on 089 6558716.

Whist Club

A Whist Club meets in Butler Community Centre, in St. John's Park, Waterford, on Tuesday’s at 7.30pm. They would love to see all their old players and new players would be most welcome. The cost is €5 per person.

Warriors Foróige

Warriors Junior Foroige Club is looking for new members and is open to boys and girls aged between 10 to 12 years. 

We meet in Butler Community Centre every Thursday night from 7pm to 8pm. 

Foróige Club is a place for young people to hang out, meet new friends, get involved in activities and have a voice. Limited places available.

Central Library

The launch of an illustrated collection of minimalist poetry titled, 'View from my Window', written by Ger Rogers and Illustrated by Anne McDonnell, will take place on Saturday, June 22, in Central Library, Lady Lane, at 3pm. This is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend, no booking required.

Solas Cancer Support Centre

Activities and support services available through the Solas Cancer Support Centre in Waterford include free professional support services for those affected by cancer, their families and carers.

A wide range of services are available including: Counselling, Art Therapy, Acupuncture, Music Therapy, reflexology reiki, Cranio Sacral therapy, Life Coaching. One to one supports are also available for children and adolescents including Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Play Ttherapy and Counselling. Sacred Heart FRC

Registration now open for baking classes in the Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre.

Shy Project Volunteers

The Shy Project is appealing for volunteer to join its team and what's required is a genuine interest in the care for and belief in young people with a two-and-a-half hour weekly commitment.

It's a wonderful opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people in the Sacred Heart Community. The project is involved with developmental group work with young people aged from 10 to 24 years. There is also a homework club in partnership with Scoil Lorcain School and a games room drop-in initiative along with seasonal activities and fundraisers.
