The annual National Day of Commemoration took place at the John Condon Memorial at Cathedral Square in Waterford City at the weekend.
Waterford News & Star photographer Joe Evans captured the solemn occasion, held at sites across Ireland to remember all Irish men and women who died in past wars, or on service with the United Nations.
The Waterford event was attended by various dignitaries, including Mayor of Waterford City and County Cllr Seamus Ryan, and members of the Defence Forces.
The service in Waterford echoed the State event held at Collins Barracks in Dublin, where President Michael D. Higgins led the national commemorations.
Photos will also appear in the forthcoming print edition of the Waterford News & Star.
Photos of other events are also available to view on the website under the 'Archive' section.
A collection of nostalgic photos from our archive, titled 'Colourful Memories of Waterford', compiled by Joe Evans, is currently available as a fantastic photobook on sale at The Book Centre, in-store or through or office on Gladstone Street.
All photos are available to purchase through the Waterford News & Star.
