One of the most expensive properties in Dublin 4 recently put on the market has sold for €5.75 million, making it the highest price secured for a Dublin home this year, new figures from the Residential Property Price Register show.
Last Summer, high-profile consultant doctor, Dr Hugh O’Connor, and his wife, Fiona Healy, placed their 61 Ailesbury Rd property over four levels on the market for €6.95 million.

The two operate The Hoc medical clinic, which specialises in women’s health, at Burlington House in Dublin 4.
The semi-detached home at No 61 Ailesbury Road went sale agreed before Christmas, and was marketed by Sotheby’s International agents, who described it as “a distinguished residence on one of Dublin’s most prestigious and sought-after addresses”.
The seven bedroom and seven bath Edwardian family residence, extending to 5,468sq.ft, “has been very tastefully remodelled and extended” and includes a basement gym along with a large south facing garden that includes a tennis court.

The €5.75 million sale makes it the most expensive single house sale in the capital to date this year from figures provided by the Residential Property Price Register.
Ailesbury Rd is one of the most sought after addresses in the country and last year two homes at 87 Ailesbury Rd and 37 Ailesbury Rd sold for €7.1 million and €5.2 million respectively.
The €5.75 million for 61 Ailesbury Rd falls €1.2 million short of the €6.95 million asking price and provides further evidence of a softening in the market for luxury homes where this week, the asking price for the Enniskerry home of former Minister for Transport, Shane Ross, and RTÉ broadcaster, Ruth Buchanan, was cut by 27.5 per cent from €3.5 million to €2.6 million.
Planning records for 61 Ailesbury Rd at Ballsbridge in Dublin 4 show that Dr O’Connor and Ms Healy secured planning permission from Dublin City Council for a 240.5 sq metre rear extension in 2009.

The Hoc Clinic Ltd was incorporated in October 2022 where Dr O’Connor is a director and Ms Healy is company secretary, but the firm has yet to file accounts
The website for The Hoc states that it was “founded by consultant Dr. Hugh O’ Connor, an award winning gynaecologist and obstetrician, with over 30 years experience and his wife Fiona Healy”.
The website states that at The Hoc “we focus on you. Our approach to female health combines medical expertise with the latest medical technologies”.
The website points out that The Hoc’s “non-invasive and highly effective treatments targeting skin, body, hormone, vaginal and sexual wellness promote optimal female health at any lifestage”.
