Wildly popular Churchyard Sessions announce Summer lineup of free concerts for Waterford

Churchyard Sessions
The Churchyard Sessions have revealed the lineup for their 2025 series of free open air concerts.
Every Saturday and select Fridays throughout the entire Summer season, regional and national live music acts will perform at the outdoor event, in the shadow of the 15th Century French Church on Baileys New St, in Waterford’s Viking Triangle.
This year features new additions such as Smash Hits, Stacy Mitchhart, The New Brass Kings, and Legendary: A Bon Jovi Tribute.
Four Friday night concerts will also be taking place this year.
“The feedback we received was that the people of Waterford needed more Friday night after-work entertainment, and we listened," organisers said via social media.
The first gig takes place on Friday, May 30, when the traditional Irish and Folk music duo based in Waterford, The Knockadolly's, will be performing.
The following night, the first Saturday gig of the season takes place, with The New Brass Kings taking to the stage.
On June 7, ten-piece Motown outfit The Papa Zitas will perform, followed by Blessed the following Saturday.
Waterford’s own rockabilly group Alan Power & The Aftershocks will delight audiences on June 21.
On Friday June 27, Woody will perform.
Then on Saturday June 28, Suzie Q will perform their unique blend of pop, rock, and soul, followed by Stacy Mitchhart, Brass & Co, The Bad Shirts and Thank Funk in subsequent weeks.
Another staple of the Waterford music scene, The Unusual Suspects will hit the stage July 26, providing an electric atmosphere with genres such as rock, funk, blues, pop and reggae.
Spraoi will take over the event on August 2.
The wildly popular Oasis tribute act from Waterford, Mad Ferritt, perform the next week.
Legendary will present their Bon Jovi tribute on August 16, followed by a stellar collection of final performances the following weeks to close out the summer, with The Pearly Whites, Smash Hits and Paddy Casey gracing the stage.
The Pearly Whites are Ireland’s most professional, experienced and entertaining pop/swing showband.
Smash Hits are a one-of-a-kind tribute to the nostalgic era of dance, pop and R‘n’B.
This Dublin five-piece brings back the soundtrack of the turn of the century with a relentless set of absolute bangers from Backstreet Boys, House of Pain, Westlife, Take That, Spice Girls and more.
The final Saturday gig of the Summer will feature Paddy Casey, who has been at the forefront of the Irish music scene since his debut album 'Amen (So Be It)', in 1999.
