Remembering Sean Dunne, May 1, Theatre Royal

Poetry Day Waterford presents Remembering Sean Dunne at 3.30pm on Thursday May 1, at the Theatre Royal Vestibule.

This very special event will see Readings of Sean’s work from some very special guests. Dunne edited serveral anthologies, beginning with ‘The Poets of Munster’ (1985) and finishing with the ‘Ireland Anthology’.

He released three collections of poems.

Dunne’s collections of poems were all well received, and in order of release are:

'Against the Storm' (1985), 'The Sheltered Nest' (1992) and 'Time and the Island'. The account of his childhood, 'In My Father’s House', published in 1991, was a bestseller.

The Bands of the Irish Defence Forces, May 10, SETU Arena 

Symphony Club of Waterford presents The Bands of the Irish Defence Forces with special guests Barrack Street Concert Band The Bands of the Irish Defence Forces will return to the SETU Arena on Saturday, May 10, with special guests The Barrack Street Concert Band, Waterford.

Also featuring will be the Defence Forces Pipes & Drums and guest singers.

This promises to be an entertaining programme of classical and popular favourites, military marches and a special musical tribute to composer Bill Whelan on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
