Lots of great events are coming up in Waterford

Wonder Walls, May 16 to May 23, Garter Lane Theatre courtyard

Wonder Walls 2026 for Cruinniú na nÓg invites young people aged 12–18 to take part in a hands-on street art experience as part of a nationwide celebration of creativity.

Across two artist-led workshops in May, participants will collaborate to design and create a large-scale mural, building real spray-paint skills and working as a creative team.

This year, each location will also contribute to a special national artwork piece, connecting young people across Ireland in one shared creative moment on Cruinniú na nÓg.

The same group will attend both workshop dates, so availability for all sessions is essential.

Spaces are limited.

Beatlemania, May 23, The Haven Hotel, Dunmore East

Playing to sell-out audiences all over the world, Beatlemania is now touring the nation, featuring a cast that not only look and sound like John, Paul, George, and Ringo, they also generate that same, famed incredible excitement that was the trademark of Fab Four.

Confinement, May 22 to May 24, Coastguard Cultural Centre, Tramore

Waterford’s Stagemad celebrates 21 years with their presentation of an all-female production of “Confinement” by Roisin Hackett Nolan, starring award-winning actors Lauren Cardiff and Clodagh Kenny.

Jess played by Lauren Cardiff and Shell played by Clodagh Kenny, are trapped in their tiny flat, and in their own spiralling thoughts.

Starved of freedom, and tormented by the neighbour from hell, the walls begin to close in.

What starts as mild irritation twists into paranoia, bad choices, and a chain of consequences that neither of them can escape.

The play has been described as tense, darkly funny and uncomfortably relatable.

Roisin Hackett Nolan is a writer from Tramore and her most recent play, 'Post Mortem', was staged recently as part of Stagemad’s ‘Five for 2025’ event.

Stagemad Theatre Company are Southeast Cultural Award winners and Waterford News & Star Green Room Award winners.

The group are also Edinburgh Fringe nominees for best play.

Lauren Cardiff is an award winner for her role as Blanche in 'A Streetcar Named Desire', whilst Clodagh Kenny is an award winner for her role as Rhonda in, 'The Tangled Skirt'.

Tickets for the upcoming production are available at gr8events.ie
