The Greatest 80s show, September 13, Theatre Royal.

Travel back in time to the 1980s with the exciting new music theatre production at Theatre Royal.

This high-energy show features favourite hits from the decade of neon and big hair, including songs from iconic artists like Duran Duran, A-ha, and Spandau Ballet to name just a few.

A spokesperson said: “The show will take you on a nostalgic journey through the decade, with memorable performances of classic songs such as ‘In the Air Tonight’, ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ and ‘Together in Electric Dreams’.

“With a set that is both electrifying and heartfelt, the show is a celebration of the music, fashion, and culture of the 80s, and is sure to have audiences dancing in their seats.”

Shane Barry & The Silver South Ensemble, November 10, The Seantí 

Following a performance at the Seantí in June, Shane Barry returns with his Silver South Ensemble on Sunday, November 10.

This time, the band has been expanded to a 12-piece for this once off occasion, to include a string section.

Shane Barry is a Waterford-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. His debut, solo album ‘Songs from the Silver South’ is the perfect Autumn-to-Spring soundtrack - representing a wide range of influences and interests.

From ambient country to indie new-wave to folk-rock to the instrumental retro-dance/electronica of the album closer, Shane creates a number of tapestries to present the stories inspired by small-town living, taking his influences from Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Wilco, John Prine and 70s FM pop.
