What's on in Waterford: Live music from 'down under', tribute acts, theatre and more

Mary Coughlan is one of Irelands most celebrated jazz and blues singers, whose career spans over four decades.
Renowned for her smoky, whiskey-soaked vocals, she draws inspiration from legends like Billie Holiday and Peggy Lee. Her debut album, 'Tired and Emotional' (1985), achieved remarkable success in Ireland, selling over 100,000 copies. In October 2024, Coughlan released 'Repeat Rewind', marking her 40th year in music, accompanied by a nationwide tour celebrating this milestone.

Civic are a five-piece who came together in 2018 through the traps of the Melbourne music scene.
Bonding over a shared love of tightly coiled riffs and a collective musical ethos, they channeled this into their first EP, 'New Vietnam'.
In a head rush recording session, the seven tracks from the EP were slammed out in a single day, with the underground hit going on to sell out of several pressings worldwide. In doing so the group also made a name for themselves through the intensity of their live shows.
Taking to the stage with a contoured cheek and darkened eyes, McCullough’s glamoured stage presence has beamed and boomed over sold-out crowds.
With momentum in the tank, they took to various locations across Victoria to work on their next album, 'Future Forecast'.
