Culture Night ’24 at Theatre Royal starts at 5 PM with a Music Generation Waterford ‘House Takeover’.
Kick off your evening with a vibrant showcase of nearly 50 young musicians performing live in the theatre’s vestibule and bar area. Featuring Music Generation Waterford’s Wind Band and a Youth Open Mic session, this event offers an electric mix of genres.

Bagatelle are one of Ireland most loved bands have performed over 40 years, achieving several No.1 Singles with iconic songs like ‘Summer in Dublin, ‘Second Violin’ and ‘Trump Card’.
They also have enjoyed multi-platinum and gold album sales with classic emigration songs like ‘Streets of New York’, ‘Flight of the Earls’ and ‘Boston Rose’, all written by front man Liam Reilly. Sadly Liam, the lead singer of Bagatelle passed away January 1, 2021.
Following a TG4 documentary about Liam, 'Bagatelle - Ómos do Liam Reilly', which first aired New Years Eve 2021, a year after his untimely passing, a decision was made with by the remaining members of the band to go back on the road for a special appearances with special guests to celebrate the life of Liam Reilly, his music and the Bagatelle legacy.
Bagatelle have shared the stage with legends like Bob Marley, John Denver, The Pogue’s, Duran Duran, Pretenders, Van Morrison, U2, Jose Feliciano, Wishbone Ash, UB40 and George Michael to name but a few.

Held in the intimate surrounds of Luca Records & Decks vinyl record store, Dr Michael O'Toole brings us an evening of music from his extensive repertoire on solo guitar. Michael is one of Ireland’s leading guitarists, acclaimed for his international performances and collaborations with top musicians.
He earned his PhD in 2018 from Dublin Institute of Technology and published his book 'John Williams: Changing the Culture of the Classical Guitar', in 2019. Michael has directed The Waltons Guitar Festival and Kilkenny Arts Festival, balancing his performance career with promoting the guitar.
His solo CD, 'Invocation' (2007) and collaboration with Chinese pipa virtuoso Liu Fang on 'Changes' (2008), have been highly praised. He teaches at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and SETU.
