Waterford artist Flexx Carter demonstrates 'lyrical prowess' on latest single

Flexx Carter is a dynamic rap artist hailing from Waterford who has carved out a niche in the rap world by drawing from his own life experiences to create music that he says will resonate deeply with his audience.

His brand new single ‘Datenight’ is out August 9, 2024.

‘Datenight’ is a follow-up to Flexx Carter’s successful single ‘Take Care’ and his first project 'The Freedom Tapes', that included singles ‘When I See The Water’, ‘Freedom’, ‘The Future Never Happened’, ‘Intentions’ and ‘Who’s Flexx’.

The upcoming single is a compelling addition to his discography, featuring the soulful vocals of Chris Kabs, who also produced the song, adding a rich, textured layer to Flexx's introspective verses.

‘Datenight’ is a described as a 'musical journey' that blends the artist's personal reflections with Chris Kabs' melodic hooks, creating a track that is both thought-provoking and emotionally engaging.

Speaking to the Waterford News & Star on the latest single, Carter said: "I want to inspire people through my music to do whatever it is that they want to do with their lives, and ignore anybody that says they can't, whilst also telling my own stories."

“There's people out there that only have some earphones and a Spotify account," he said.

"I want to be the dude they listen to so they know there's more to life, and they’re not alone," he added.

Carter says his music is characterized by its raw honesty and emotional depth, often exploring themes of struggle, resilience, happiness, love and personal growth. 

He has the ability to translate his experiences into lyrical narratives that not only entertain but also offer hope and motivation.

The dynamic rapper has already built a loyal following and critical acclaim in the rap community. Flexx has recently opened for the renowned local Waterford group ‘King Kong Company’, performed live in Electric Avenue and Bank Lane, Waterford, and on the Main Stage of The Workman’s Club in Dublin.
