As part of this year’s Well Festival, daily poetry postcards will be circulated across the community to give people a well-deserved lift.

A much-loved element of the festival, the ‘Fancy a Lift’ event this year will be curated by poet Kerrie O’Brien, who has chosen an absorbing selection of poems.

A new poem will be shared each day with the University Hospital Waterford community via patient meal trays and staff emails.

Poems will also be shared with the wider Well Festival audience through Waterford Libraries and online.

Dubliner, Kerrie O’Brien is an accomplished poet whose debut collection of poetry, ‘Illuminate’, was published by Salmon Poetry in October 2016.

Kerrie’s poetry has been featured in Cyphers, The Stinging Fly, The Irish Times, RTÉ Arena, Sunday Miscellany, The RTÉ Bookshow, The Irish Examiner and Southword, and her work has been read at literary festivals around the world.

‘Fancy a Lift’ will take place daily from Monday, February 17 to Friday, February 21, at University Hospital Waterford, Waterford Central Library, Dungarvan Library and online via wellwaterford.com
