Tunefest announces expansion into Autumn and Winter months

Rory Makem and Donal Clancy
TuneFest Dungarvan have announced a series of Irish Trad and Folk Music concerts, featuring some of the most celebrated names in the genre, which will run from August to December.
The festival is expanding beyond just its annual Summer events with more nights filled with enchanting music, rich storytelling and cultural experiences taking place in the Autumn and Winter, at Dungarvan's Town Hall Theatre.
First on the lineup this year will be John Doyle and Mick McAuley, on August 15. The magical synergy of John Doyle’s masterful Irish guitar and rich vocals, combined with Mick McAuley’s multi-instrumental brilliance on accordion and flute, is together a blend of traditional Irish sounds with modern rhythms.
Doyle and McAuley have illustrious careers as solo artists and members of the iconic group Solas.
The next exciting musical duo to perform will be Rory Makem and Donal Clancy, on September 20. Rory Makem, son of the legendary Tommy Makem, carries forward his family's storied legacy with his rich baritone voice and masterful songwriting, whilst Donal Clancy is son of the renowned Liam Clancy, of The Clancy Brothers, celebrated for his virtuosic guitar playing and deep understanding of traditional music.
Their show together will be a trip down memory lane with songs and stories from the early days of The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem through to more contemporary hits such as 'The Dutchman' and Makem’s self-penned anthem 'Four Green Fields'.
Lastly, TuneFest will present The Daoirí Farrell Trio, on December 6.
Dublin-born singer and bouzouki player Daoirí Farrell is a former electrician turned full-time musician who has been hailed as one of the most important singers to come out of Ireland in recent years.
He has been credited with ‘single handedly spearheading a resurgence of the authentic in Irish folk music’, with a voice that resonates with authenticity and a repertoire that spans centuries.
A product of Dublin's famous club, An Góilin Traditional Singers, since launching his own solo live career at the 2016, Daoirí Farrell has boasted numerous honours from BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards to ALSR Celtic Music accolades.
