Local artist Tadhg Williams gearing up for highly anticipated debut EP release

Tadhg Williams

Local artist Tadhg Williams will be unveiling his latest project, ‘This Record is a Nixer’, at Luca Records this coming December.

Tadhg is a performer who is described as "valuing community and togetherness above all else".

His live shows have been described as "amazing and profoundly personal", while his songs have become known for their honest, challenging lyricism, and heart-on-sleeve melodies.

Having previously endeared himself to a significant fanbase, selling out shows in Dublin and Waterford and earning opportunities to perform in venues such as Vicar St. and Waterford's Theatre Royal, it has been almost three years since Tadhg has released any music.

His previous releases, notably ‘My Father’s Clouds’ and ‘The Summer Song’, earned significant media attention, with renowned music journalist Tony Clayton-Lea describing the tracks as "cinematic quality that speak certain truths from the heart and soul".

In those three years, Tadhg has worked to develop his craft, both in songwriting and his live performances, completing an undergraduate degree in history, which he says has been a huge source of inspiration for much of his latest material.

He has also supported a variety of acts from Mary Black and The Stunning, to Kingfishr and Niamh Regan. He played a set at Glastonbury Festival, and embarked on a small Irish tour to road-test a selection of new songs, before going into the studio with producer, Geoff Warner-Clayton to further develop and record some of these tracks.

The upcoming album, ‘This Record is a Nixer’, is the culmination of that work.

The launch takes place at Luca Records and Decks on Michael Street on December 13. Tickets available at lucarecords.ie
