Critically acclaimed songwriter on way to Seantí

Emma Langford will be appearing at the Seantí as part of her Irish tour

One of Ireland's foremost up-and-coming songwriters is on his way to the Seantí in Kilmacow this month.

Emma Langford creates music that playfully blends folk, traditional and contemporary sounds and styles and does so in a way that captures the attention of music fans with broad, eclectic tastes.

Songs such as 'The Winding Way Down to Kells Bay' and 'Birdsong' have solidified her place on the Irish and international folk scene and firmly established Langford at the very forefront of the contemporary Irish folk and acoustic scene.

Last yeat she played Ireland’s National Concert Hall, premiering new works inspired by pirate queen Gráinne Mhaol, alongside award-winning conductor Éimear Noone and the National Symphony Orchestra.

She also toured Germany and joined the star-studded Irish Women In Harmony on lead vocals, on the main stage at Ireland’s premier music festival, Electric Picnic.

This year has already seen her complete a full-band tour of the USA and her forthcoming gig in the Seantí is part of an Irish tour with her collaborative trio.

Fans can expect to hear songs from a body of work that celebrates Irish myth, history and folklore in a dynamic and rather unique way.

Doors will open at 8pm and the show will kick off at 9pm sharp.

Tickets for the show are priced €20 plus fees, and are available online through the link
