Temperatures to reach as high as 21 degrees over the weekend

Break out the suncream and the barbecue because Friday is going to be a scorcher.
Met Éireann says temperatures could hit 21 degrees, with similar weather forecast for Saturday.
Ireland is one of the driest places in Europe right now, and is set to be hotter than parts of the Canaries.

Met Éireann said Friday will be dry with good sunshine for most, though it will be cloudier in the west and southwest.
A few showers will develop in Munster this evening, some turning heavy. Highest temperatures of 14 to 20 degrees, warmest in the west and coolest along the east and south coasts in light to moderate southeast winds.
Saturday morning will have scattered showers over Munster and Connacht, which will spread northwards across the country.
They will die out by afternoon with dry conditions and some sunny spells following, though it will be cloudier than recently. Highest temperatures of 14 degrees in the west to 19 degrees further east, possibly higher locally, in a light variable breeze.
Overall, the weather over Ireland will continue mainly dry and settled as high pressure dominates.
Sunday will be mainly dry with a fair amount of cloud and some sunny spells.
A few showers may develop in Leinster and Ulster during the afternoon and evening.
Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees, with light variable breezes, warmest in the east. Sunday night will be dry with some clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
Monday will be dry with bright or sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with light to moderate northerly breezes, coolest in the north and warmest in the south.
Tuesday will be dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 12 to 18 degrees with moderate northeasterly winds. It will be coolest in the east and warmest in the west and southwest.
Wednesday will continue dry with sunny spells and moderate easterly winds. Highest temperatures of 12 to 18 degrees, coolest in the east and warmest in the west.
