Weather warning playing havoc with sporting fixtures

Snow and ice warning playing havoc with weekend fixtures across the county.

A number of sporting fixtures across Waterford have been already postponed ahead of snow and ice weather warning that is set to grip the country over Saturday and Sunday.

All Waterford Schoolboy League games including SFAI cup games scheduled for Saturday are called off with the Waterford Inter League Youth trip to Clare tomorrow also postponed.

Waterford's Oscar Traynor semi-final on Sunday against Limerick is also off as are all Waterford Schoolgirls and Women's SFAI cup games scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday. A decision on Women's League fixtures will be made tomorrow evening.  All greyhound trials that are due to take place at Kilcohan Park over the weekend are postponed with a decision on Saturday's racing to be made in due course.

The Brian Greene fundraiser between Waterford and Cork, which is scheduled for Fraher Field tomorrow evening at 5pm still goes ahead at this time. There will be inspections on the racing front for both Cork tomorrow and Naas on Sunday.

We'll continue to update on sporting events as we get them.
