Waterford FC to host Shelbourne in season opener
Waterford's Tommy Lonergan and Shelbourne's Mark Coyle will clash in the opening game of the 2026 season as fixtures announced.
Waterford FC will play host to Shelbourne in their opening game of the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division on Friday, February 6, after the fixtures were released by the League of Ireland this morning (Tuesday).
The Blues will then take to the road to face Drogheda United on February 13 before facing Sligo Rovers at the RSC on Friday, February 20. It's an away trip to Derry City on the following Friday night before a busy March.
Alan Reynolds will bring Bohs to town on the first Friday of March, with the St. Patrick's weekend seeing away ties to Dundalk on Friday, March 13, before travelling to Eamonn Deacy Park to take on Galway United the following Friday.
Home games against St. Patrick's Athletic and Shamrock Rovers follow to complete the first series of matches. The Blues will end the campaign with an away trip to take on Shelbourne on October 30.
