The Waterford FC U-15 scorers against Limerick FC: Orion Cala (3) a brace from Harry Farrell and Callum Slattery, Ryan Murphy, Charlie Carroll and Aston King Hennessy.

Waterford FC slipped to their sixth straight defeat at Under 20 level in all competitions when Sean Geoghegan’s slumped to their third defeat in Tier One of the EA SPORTS National League of Ireland against Drogheda United at the SETU Arena on Saturday evening last.

It was the visitors that took the lead from the penalty spot with 33 minutes when Killian Cailloce netted from 12 yards after he beat Jason Healy from the spot as his side went leading at the half-time break.

The Blues were back on level terms on the hour mark when first-team player Kacper Skwierczyński turned provider for Calum Flynn and he found the back of the net with a neat finish to bring his side right back into the contest.

But there was a final twist as the visitors from Weavers Park popped up to secure the win as second-half substitute Conall Cronin netted the winning goal past keeper Healy with eight minutes remaining on the clock to inflict another defeat on the Blues. Next up for them is a home game v Cork City this evening.

The Waterford FC Men’s Under 17 side ran out facile winners for the third time this season when they hit Limerick for eight goals on Sunday afternoon last. Aaron Cass opened the scoring on three minutes before Jay Brophy and Jan Wozniak added further goals before the half-time whistle.

Wozniak got the first goal of the second-half from the penalty spot on 56 minutes before Mason Murphy got on the scoresheet two minutes later. Cass added his second goal of the tie on 68 minutes before Fidel Pululu and Orion Cala completed the scoring in a very one-sided affair.

The Blues Men’s Under 15’s hit Limerick for ten goals in their meeting on Saturday at the same venue where Cala netted an impressive first-half treble with Harry Farrell and Callum Slattery both netting a brace. Aston King Hennessy, Charlie Carroll and Ryan Murphy were also on the scoresheet.

There was no joy for the Waterford FC Women’s Under 17 side in the cup when they lost on the road against Peamount United with the home side winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Karla Moore and Eva Loftus in a game played at PRL Park.

Goals from Cliona Kearney and Mia Lenihan helped the Waterford Women’s Under 19 side to a 2-1 win over CK United at the SETU Arena on Sunday. Kearney gave the Blues the lead on 12 minutes before Abby Murphy levelled on 23 minutes with Lenihan’s winner arriving on 56 minutes. This was a third win on the bounce for Jess Lawton’s side.
