Tommy Lonergan joins Waterford FC on loan from Fleetwood Town

Waterford FC have confirmed the on-loan signing of centre forward Tommy Lonergan from sister club Fleetwood Town for the 2025 SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division campaign.
Lonergan, who joined Fleetwood Town from Premier Division side St. Patrick's Athletics, will be a big added bonus in the attacking lineup for Blues Head Coach Keith Long where he'll be hoping to partner Padraig Amond up front.
After making 20 appearances since his move to Fylde Coast, Lonergan will be hoping that he can hit the ground in Waterford after impressing in the top flight during his time at Richmond Park.
The 21-year-old is no stranger to Waterford fans after scoring the winner for UCD in the promotion/relegation playoff final that relegated the club back in 2022. He was linked with a move to the RSC last season after moving to Fleetwood Town, but this was ruled out.
Tommy will wear the number 18 jersey for the season ahead.
