Noblett on the double as terrific Tramore book final spot

The Tramore squad celebrate their win over Star Rovers in the Munster Junior Cup Shield semi - final at Ozier Park on Saturday last.
Dean Noblett was the hero for Tramore as his brace of goals helped his side overcome a dogged Star Rovers of Limerick in Munster Junior Cup Shield semi-final at Ozier Park on Saturday afternoon last.
This was a fine team effort ‘The Seagulls’ who had defended in numbers in the last quarter of the game, however Stephen O’Brien and Cian Rellis at the heart of the Tramore were magnificent as was Stephen Mahon who played a starring role in front of the back four.
Tramore came out of the blocks flying as wingers Ryan Walsh and Tony Kelly showed their pace as they took on the visitors defence. Tramore made the early pressure pay as they took the lead on seven minutes. David Kilcommons went on the overlap down the left and crossed to the far, Josh Clune headed the ball down to the waiting striker Dean Noblett and he made no mistake with a well struck finish.
The battle in midfield was immense as the tackles went flying in, however Stephen Mahon and Martin Whelan kept Tramore on the attack by winning the ball and playing some excellent passes to the strikers.
On the half hour mark Tramore went close to increasing their lead Jack Murphy played a clever pass to put Tony Kelly in the clear but Star Rovers raced from his line to make a fine save.
On the stroke of halftime Star Rovers put a fine move together, a neat one two between Aaron Nunan and Emmet Hehir left striker Nunan clear but Tramore keeper Ben Collins was alert and he dived low to his left to turn the ball past the far upright.

Tramore made a cautious start to the second half as it was Star Rovers who took up the running but O’Brien and Rellis the two Tramore centre backs were in commanding form as they kept the strikers of Star Rovers at bay.
The Waterford outfit doubled their lead on 51 minutes with a goal similar to the first, a deep cross by Tony Kelly was headed back across goal Josh Clune and once again Dean Noblett showed his goal instinct by losing his marker to force the ball home from close range.
Tramore had only finished celebrating when Star Rovers pulled a goal back. A long goal kick beat the Tramore defence and Aaron Nunan hit a stunning right foot volley that flew into the roof of the net beyond the diving Ben Collins.
But they respond well with Stephen Mahon charging up the field on 67 minutes, he then the ball wide to Tony Kelly and went the cross came in Mahon was unlucky to see his effort crash against the crossbar.
Tramore manager Colin Walsh then got his tactics right as he introduced fresh legs at the right time. Any chance of a Star Rovers comeback vanished on 82 minutes when Ryan Guedes was sent off after picking up two yellow cards.
The seaside outfit now look forward to the final of the Munster Junior Cup Shield, a competition for teams who play outside the Premier and First Division Leagues.
