Bohemians have become the latest Waterford club to receive the FAI Circle K Ireland Club Mark Entry Award after a presentation at Ben Wadding Park on
Saturday last.
The city based club were rewarded for their work behind the scenes in ensuring that their structure is heading in the right direction with the award coming at a very exciting time for the club with their state of the art new astro pitch nearing completion to further enhance the facilities provided for their members at Ben Wadding Park.
Senator John Cummins and FAI Development Officer for Waterford Gary Power were both in attendance with the latter presenting the award to Club Mark Officer for Bohemians Ed Ryan. Club Officers David Whittle and Ian Barrett along with Club President Christy Wallace and Committee members Elaine Whittle and Jon Morgan were also present for the awarding of the Club Mark.

As part of the application process Ed Ryan said “work on the application began in 2022 before the application was formally submitted to the FAI in August 2023.
Confirmation was received in September 2023 that the club had been successful in our application. Key areas for the application are governance, management and administration of the club.
Prior to submitting the application we ensured that all coaches had up to date Garda Vetting and Safeguarding, ensured that all our squads throughout each section are being coached by coaches holding the appropriate qualifications to underpin the club’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of coaching and child protection within grassroots football.”
Club Chairperson David Whittle added “The awarding of the FAI Club Mark is an accreditation that covers grassroots club governance and best practice.
It assists in setting the club up for future success while also reassuring our club members that the club is committed to doing things the correct way. It highlights the good work being done throughout the club by our members”
Local FAI Development Officer Gary Power commented on social media “Well done to everyone involved Bohemians who were presented with the FAI Circle K Club Mark Entry award last weekend.
Brilliant to have Senator John Cummons in attendance also. The club are undertaking a huge development at the moment in Ben Wadding Park and great to see them allocated much needed funding last week to help progress the development.”
