Ellen Walshe joins Irish medal hopefuls in finals at Euro swimming championships
Ellen Walshe is through to tonight's final in the women's 400-metres individual medley at the European Aquatics Championships.
The Templeogue swimmer came second in her heat in Paris this morning.
Jack Kelly finished third in his heat in the men's 200-metres breaststroke and progresses to tonight's semi-finals, along with Eoin Corby.
A fourth-placed finish for Danielle Hill was enough to go through to the women's 50-metres backstroke semi-finals.
There are three other Irish medal hopefuls in tonight's finals in Paris.
John Shortt (19) will be in the men's 200-metres backstroke final at 5:40pm Irish time.
Mona McSharry came through second-fastest in qualifying for the women's 100-metres breaststroke final, which is underway just before 6pm.
After this, reigning Olympic champion Daniel Wiffen will be in the men's 800-metres freestyle final just after 7pm.
Earlier this morning, Victoria Catterson, Grace Davison and Danielle Farrell missed out on semi-final spots in the women's 200-metres freestyle.
Matthew Hamilton and Jacob Armon were also unsuccessful in the men's 100-metres butterfly heats.
