Ireland hold on for victory against a brave Welsh side who threw everything at Andy Farrell's side.

Tries from Conan, Stockdale, Crowley, and Osborne secured victory for Ireland, who had to dig deep at times in a very physical game.


Ireland wins a penalty in front of the posts, and Crowley makes no mistake to make it a two-score game with three minutes remaining.

Ireland 27- 17 Wales.


Ireland is inches from the line as Ciarán Frawley went down the line, and the chip was just too far to chase.

Some lovely passes from Osborne and Robert Balacoune in the build-up, as Ireland aim to end with a fifth try.

After a couple of more phases, Jamie Osborne goes over to secure the bonus point.

Wales are piling pressure on Ireland as they give away two penalties.

A few minutes of neither team controlling the game, with knock-ons and balls lost at the ruck.

Ireland can't get out of their half, while Wales have not been able to create any opportunities.


Wales have a penalty after a deliberate knock-on from Tadhg Beirne, as they are just metres from the Irish try line.

They win the lineout, but Ireland defend strongly in the maul and win the ball back.

Ireland win the scrum penalty, with more great work from Tom O'Toole as Ireland move up to the 10 metre line.


James Ryan is penalised for a tackle without the ball, as Wales are just outside the Ireland 22.

They made some meters as Josh Adams had James Botham on the outside, but a terrible pass saves Ireland.


TRY: Conan will not be denied for a second time as he goes over for Ireland's third try.

After quick thinking from Gibson-Park, a couple of strong carries saw Ireland get over the line.

However, it is looked at by the TMO. Thankfully, after a lengthy review, it has stood. Crowley converts as Ireland leads by nine.


The second half is underway, as Andy Farrell will be hoping for a big improvement.

They kept the ball well, with big carries from Garry Ringrose and Ronán Kelleher, before play was stopped for an injury to a Welsh player.


It has been unconvincing for Ireland as they lead Wales 12-10 at half-time in the Aviva Stadium.

Ireland looked certain for a second try after the 30-minute mark, but some heroic Wales defending and an interception held Ireland at bay.

However, Ireland were not going to be denied their second before the break, as Jack Crowley got over the line.

Wales are not out of this by any stretch, as Rhys Carre scored an excellent solo try with Wales only two points behind.
