Michael Boland steps down as Waterford Senior Camogie manager

Waterford Camogie has confirmed that senior manager Michael Boland and his backroom team have stepped down from their roles following a mutual agreement with the county committee.

The decision brings an end to Boland's two-season tenure in charge of the Déise senior camogie side.

In a statement issued on behalf of the county committee, Waterford Camogie chairperson Sean Molloy paid tribute to Boland's commitment and service during his time at the helm.

"Michael gave this county his full commitment over the past two seasons, at considerable personal cost in time and effort, and he has our respect for it," Molloy said.

Molloy said both parties agreed that now was the appropriate time for a change and stressed that the decision was reached amicably.

"Both parties have agreed that this is the right point for a change, and that decision was reached amicably and by agreement."

The chairperson also thanked Boland and his management team on behalf of the county committee, players and clubs throughout Waterford.

"On behalf of the County Committee, the players and our clubs, I want to thank Michael and his backroom team for their service and to wish them every success."

Waterford Camogie also confirmed that neither Boland nor the county committee will be making any further comment on the matter.

The county board is expected to begin the process of appointing a new senior camogie manager in the coming weeks.
