Abbeyside-Ballinacourty GAA, Camogie & LGFA “One Club” 24-Hour Cycling Fundraiser Set to Bring Community Together
Abbeyside-Ballinacourty GAA, Camogie and LGFA are gearing up for a major fundraising event on Saturday, September 5th, with a packed programme of cycling, family entertainment, music, sport and community activities planned throughout the day.

The One Club 24-Hour Cycling Fundraiser is being organised across all three codes and aims to raise vital funds for the club while also bringing members, families and the wider community together under the “One Club, One Community” message.
The main fundraising challenge will see club members and supporters take part in a 24-hour static bike and road cycling challenge, starting on Friday 4th September at 2pm with the cycling countdown and finish-line celebrations taking place between 1pm and 2pm on the following Saturday afternoon. The road cycling challenge will take off from Garveys Coolagh at 9am (100km) and 9.15am (50km) on Saturday with both groups returning to the club grounds to join in the family fun day. The 24 hour static cycling challenge will be running at Garveys Centra Coolagh on Friday from 2pm - 9pm, it will then move back to the club grounds from 9pm - 8am and return to Garveys Centra Coolagh at 8am to 12pm on Saturday morning with the final 2 hours taking place on club grounds at 12pm - 2pm on Saturday afternoon.
The event will begin at 12pm with a Quiet Hour, in conjunction with Autism Friendly Dungarvan, providing a quieter and more relaxed environment for families before the main activities get underway.
From 1pm to 4pm, the club will host a Family Fun Day, with free entry and something for all ages.
There will be live trad music from Luasca, field games, face painting, free ice cream, a BBQ, tea and coffee, along with demonstrations from Dungarvan First Responders and Irish dancing.
Fantastic Raffle Prizes A major raffle is also being held as part of the fundraiser, with tickets priced at €5 each or three for €10.
The first prize is €1,000 cash or a Centre Parcs voucher, kindly sponsored by Adesco. Second prize is an Apple iMac Computer (4.5k 24’’) Third prize is €500 cash, kindly sponsored by Kereen Heat Pumps & HVAC.

The fundraising initiative has received tremendous support from club members, local businesses and the wider community, with organisers hoping that the event will provide an opportunity for people of all ages to get involved.
The club is keen to stress that this is also an opportunity to bring together the GAA, Camogie and LGFA sections of Abbeyside-Ballinacourty, to celebrate the work of volunteers and members across the club and showcase the strength of the wider community.
Whether people are taking part in the cycling challenge, volunteering, supporting the fundraiser or simply bringing the family along for the afternoon, everyone is encouraged to get involved.
The celebrations will continue into the evening, with the grand raffle draw taking place in Minnie’s Bar Abbeyside at 8pm, bringing the day’s fundraising activities to a close.
With cycling, music, sport, food, entertainment and plenty of activities for children, Abbeyside-Ballinacourty GAA, Camogie & LGFA are hoping for a huge turnout from across Abbeyside, Ballinacourty, Dungarvan and surrounding areas.

Raffle tickets will be available for sale on all club social media platforms and during the 24 hour cycle.
