Winterval traders' festive memories

Caroline Mulcahy was working at Spreads during Winterval.
Winterval traders shared their favourite festive memories and spoke to Waterford News & Star about the best presents they received in Christmases past.
of Spreads said that the best present she had received from Santa was when she was "about six or seven, I received a doll's house, complete with little beds and kitchenettes and a little stairs that you could walk the dolls up".
She spent the entirety of Christmas Day playing with the dolls!

, a business student at the University of Limerick, who was working at one of the stands at Winterval, said that his favourite recent Christmas memory was his "first twelve pubs", he laughed.
"My favourite Christmas memory would have to be the early days of Winterval!"
Darragh said that when he was seven years old, he would come into town to attend the Winterval festivities and to see Santa.
Working alongside Darragh was
, who recalled getting a wooden sleigh following the Big Snow that hit Ireland in 2010."It was a proper wooden sleigh, I got that the year after the snow but I never really got to use it because we never had that much snow again!"
The present stood out to her, she said, because the wooden sleigh "got brought into all the Christmas plays in Primary School" as a prop but that it rarely saw use for its intended purpose!

, who was staffing one of the stands selling perfume, said that his favourite Christmas memories all came from "waking up early on Christmas Day as a young kid with loads of presents under the tree".
His favourite present he ever received was a computer, "a Commodore 64! It was many, many moons ago!"
The Commodore 64 had the original Tetris and Pac Man games installed, which he whiled away many hours playing.
