Darragh's Soapbox: How our councillors celebrate Christmas?

Christmas has come and gone, and Waterford has been abuzz with shopping, wrapping, gifting and celebration.
Everyone celebrates the season a little differently, bringing their own traditions and festive outings to the fore.
With that said, what have our local councillors been up to over the Christmas period?
On Christmas week, Cllr Damien Geoghegan paid a visit to Conor from The Country Store in Dungarvan, and his famous brussels sprouts.
Cllr Geoghegan said on social media: "Fresh in this morning! The finest Brussels Sprouts in Ireland! All the way from Hanrahan's in Ballinacourty!"

Meanwhile, in the city, Cllr John Hearne has been busy with Christmas fundraisers in his locality of Larchville and Lisduggan.
At Lisduggan Shopping Centre, Cllr Hearne and members of the Larchville/Lisduggan Residents Association came out in force with hundreds of toys, DVDs, puzzles and books, all in aid of the jubilee clock project, which is ongoing in the centre of the community.

Meanwhile, Christmas is especially meaningful this year for Cllr Kate O'Mahoney, who is marking her first year on the council.
She said last week: “What a year it has been.
“I want to take a moment to reflect and to say thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey so far. It has been a year full of learning, challenges and privilege, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Dungarvan LEA.
"Thank you for putting your trust in me. I hope I am making you all proud.
"One year later, I am proud of what we have achieved together. I am determined to continue working hard, engaging with, and delivering for communities across the Dungarvan LEA. We have a lot more work to do."
