Where our TDs travelled for St. Patrick's Day
Ministers Butler and Cummins on State visits.
As part of the government's St. Patrick's programme, 40 representatives of the State will be visiting 50 countries worldwide to "promote Ireland, Irish values and Ireland’s interests across the world”.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin travelled to Washington DC, ahead of his contentious meeting with U.S. president Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, Tánaiste Simon Harris was visiting Paris and London this year.
Waterford Ministers Mary Butler and John Cummins have both been overseas, engaging with "political, business, civil society, cultural and diaspora leaders".
Minister Butler, Government Chief Whip and Minister of State at the Department of Health, visited Malta, Portugal and Spain. She met with President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono, Irish Ambassador to Spain Brian Glynn and Irish Ambassador to Portugal Alma Ní Choigligh.
John Cummins, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, visited Scotland and North England. He engaged with Scottish Minister for Public Finance Ian McKee and Lord Provost of Glasgow Jacqueline McLaren. Other engagements with the Minister included meeting with the leader of Glasgow City Council Susan Aitken to express condolences for the devastating fire in the city last weekend.
