Waterford City & County Council, on behalf of Met Eireann, has issued a weather warning for the Déise county.

The moderate weather warning relates to wind and will come into effect from midnight on Thursday, March 12, until 6pm that evening.

There is expected to be strong and gusty, southwesterly winds and the potential impacts could include difficult travelling conditions along with debris or loose objects being displaced.

The local authority is also advising the public to be mindful of possible fallen branches or trees.
