Waterford City & County Council has issued a weather warning for the county on behalf of Met Éireann.
The warning is advisory and gives notice of the risk of flooding as a result of heavy showers or long spells of rain which will become widespread from the southwest from around 3am tomorrow morning, Sunday, August 30, and will remain throughout the day.
There is expected to be some localised 'torrential downpours' with the potential for thunderstorms, lightning and associated gusty winds.
'While they will be hit and miss, some localised flooding may occur,' noted the local authority in its notice.
The warning will come into effect from 3am tomorrow morning and will remain in place until 3am on Monday, August 31.
