Weather Update: Severe warning of snow and ice for Waterford

Waterford City & County Council has issued another weather alert for County Waterford, from Met Éireann.
The severe weather warning relates to possible further falls of sleet or snow which could lead to significant accumulations. The warning from Met Éireann said very difficult travelling conditions added to poor visibility could occur and travel disruption and delays to public transport are also likely to occur.
The warning also stated there could be difficult conditions underfoot and animal owners are advised there may be welfare issues with livestock and pets.
The Orange level warning is valid from 5pm until 8pm today, Sunday, January 5.
Additionally, Met Éireann also issued a moderate, yellow level warning for Waterford regarding air temperatures. The low-temperature warning said very cold nights with widespread frost and ice can be expected with temperatures 'struggling to get above freezing' during the day.
Hazardous travelling conditions are expected with icy patches likely and travel disruption.
That warning, which relates to the entire country, is valid from 5pm today, Sunday, January 5, until 12 noon on Thursday, January 9.
