Waterford's South Quays is to close to inbound traffic for almost two days later this month.
Waterford City and County Council and BAM are advising the public that the closure will be from Rice Bridge and along the South Quays, from 8pm on Saturday, April 12, to 6am on Monday, April 14, inclusive.
The measures also include the relocation of the bus stop at Meagher's Quay and the closure of the pedestrian crossing at the Clock Tower.
Traffic will be diverted at Rice Bridge.
The closure is to facilitate deep excavation works to connect to the existing foul sewer, as well as the installation of ducts for signalling and traffic lights to the east and west of the Clock Tower.
The council say all measures will be clearly marked and asks the public to adhere to any signage.
Outbound traffic is not affected.
Emergency services will have access for the duration of the works.
Merchants Quay and Clyde Wharf car parks will be accessible to outbound traffic.
Waterford City and County Council and BAM say they apologise for any inconvenience caused.
