Michelle Bodie and Conor Mulhall were married in the Tower Hotel on May 8. Their love story began eight years ago in Dublin, and from the very beginning they knew they had both found something worth holding onto.

Conor, originally from Dublin but living in Waterford, met Michelle, also from Dublin, through some mutual friends and so their love story began.

Michelle's 'glam team' consisted of Lisa Coffey and Perfection by Paula.

When they are not working, Conor is a keen musician and fan of concerts, which he attends far and wide in places like Sweden. He is also an avid fan of Manchester City and rarely misses a game. Michelle loves the theatre and big musical productions. She spent years travelling the world to places such as Dubai, Mexico, and Iceland (where she witnessed an active Volcano). She is a real foodie and would consider herself to be a “culinary explorer” as she puts it.

Michelle told the News & Star all about how they got engaged: “Conor surprised me with a trip to Paris in May 2024. Little did I know what he had planned for those four truly magical days.

"He brought me to Moulin Rouge on our first night, which was amazing. On our second day, he brought me for a “once in a lifetime” dinner in the Madame Brasserie restaurant on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower where he proposed in front of about 300 people (on bended knee of course and after smuggling the ring through two security metal detectors without me noticing)!

"And as if that wasn’t enough. He then surprised me the next day with VIP tickets to see Taylor Swift in Paris that very night on the first date of her European tour.

“As soon as we got home, wedding planning began straight away. We chose the beautiful Tower Hotel as our venue for the 8th of May 2026, a date exactly two years from the engagement date and it was everything we had hoped for and more. We celebrated over three incredible days with family and friends who travelled from all over the world to be with us. The team at the hotel were absolutely amazing, especially Áine, Sinéad, Michael, Jonas and all the staff who couldn’t do enough for us.

“Our ceremony was made so personal and unique by celebrant Miriam Fitzgerald who was a joy to deal with and made it so seamless and romantic, while Déise Weddings transformed the room into something truly magical and Gavin Burke (Piano Man) played beautifully on the Piano.”

Honeymoon plans are in full planning mode too, with places like Japan, Bali and Nashville being thrown around at the moment.

There’s still plenty of excitement ahead for their families, too, as Michelle’s twin brother is getting married this August and Conor's daughter Emma recently turned 21.

The Waterford News & Star wishes the couple many years of health and happiness.
