Waterford town sees free parking temporarily removed from app in bid to stop misuse

The council have removed the free parking option from the app

Waterford City and County Council is advising motorists in Dungarvan that the free parking sessions have temporarily been removed from the app.

The council said in a post on social media that according to the Dungarvan by-laws, only one free session is allowed per vehicle per day.

However, the council’s parking app cannot currently enforce that rule.

Free parking is available for 90 minutes in Scanlon’s Yard and Causeway carparks.

Thirty minutes is available for on-street parking.

The council say that free parking is still available from parking meters and they are working with the app developers to resolve the issue.
