Abbey Community College has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2025 on their exceptional Leaving Certificate results, celebrating the hard work, dedication, and achievements of each student.

Ms. Michelle Jefford, Principal of the school located in Ferrybank on the outskirts of the city, expressed pride in the achievements of the Sixth Year students, acknowledging the individuality of their journeys and the remarkable resilience they displayed in reaching this significant milestone.

Speaking on behalf of the school community, Ms. Jefford said: "We are immensely proud of each and every one of our students. Their dedication, perseverance, and spirit have been truly inspiring, and we extend our warmest congratulations to them all on this special occasion.”

She said the "outstanding results" represented a significant milestone not only for the students, but also for their families and the primary schools that helped shape their early educational journeys.

"The unwavering support from these communities has been instrumental in their success and continues to enrich the vibrant spirit of Abbey Community College," said Ms Jefford.

She also conveyed sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Abbey Community College, both teaching and non-teaching, for their dedication, care, and commitment to the Class of 2025. "Their collective efforts have played a vital role in guiding and supporting our students throughout their time with us," he said.

She also highlighted that as a large and inclusive school, Abbey Community College is proud to offer a wide and diverse range of subjects and senior cycle programmes designed to meet the needs of all learners. 

Ms Jefford said that breadth of choice empowered the school's students to follow a variety of pathways, whether progressing to university or college, pursuing apprenticeships, or entering the workforce directly, ensuring that every student is supported in achieving their full potential.

"Although a national decrease in points has been noted, this remarkable group of students has consistently performed above national averages, with many attaining over 600 points in their Leaving Certificate results," she said.

"We are also delighted to note a significant increase in the number of students scoring above 500 points, reflecting the hard work and commitment of both students and staff," she added.

The school's Leaving Certificate Applied students also excelled, achieving results at the highest end of the national scale, which Ms Jefford said was "a testament to their dedication and the strength of our inclusive educational programmes".

"As our students prepare to take the next exciting step in their educational and career journeys, the Support Team and Guidance Counsellors at Abbey Community College continue to provide support throughout the CAO process and will remain available to assist students beyond this stage if needed," she said.
