Waterford student excels

A former student of Ardscoil na Mara, in Tramore was recognised recently for achieving outstanding results in his leaving certificate exams.

Colm Corbett earned the highest possible score in his Construction Studies (HL) exam and in recognition of that fact he was presented with a Certificate of Excellence by the Chairperson of the Techno Teachers Association, Stephen O’Brien.

As a subject association, the Techno Teachers Association provides support to teachers of the practical suite of subjects.

In presenting the award, Mr O’Brien said they acknowledged the most talented students within particular subject areas.

“These Certificates of Excellence are awarded to the most meritorious students in these subject areas with the assistance of the SEC," he said.

The Association chairperson went on to comment: “They recognise excellence and acknowledge the teachers' and schools' supporting role in facilitating this accomplishment.”
