Waterford school's TY trade fair is a great success
The TY Trade Fair in Presentation Secondary School was a great success.
The Transition Year students in Presentation Secondary School in Waterford held a trade fair in the run-up to the recent holiday season and it proved to be a great success.
The annual trade fair is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the school's yearly calendar and this year the school gym was transformed into a lively marketplace filled with unique items.

Students from all year groups attended and enjoyed a wide variety of choices, ensuring there was something for everyone.
Sweet treats like cookies, cakes, and sweets were available to keep shoppers energised and a spokesperson for the school said the Young SVP team also organised a competition to guess the number of sweets in a jar.

"Handmade jewellery such as bracelets, earrings, and rings were on sale, along with pampering items like snuggle boxes (containing facemasks and cosy socks), essential oils, lip glosses, and shimmering body oils," said the spokesperson.
Other stands featured personalised painted denim and handmade soft toys. and customers could adopt a soft toy ball and buy extra accessories like glasses and decorative flowers. Book lovers were also able to purchase handmade wooden bookmarks.

The event was also attended by Jonathan Earl, who is the regional co-ordinator of the Student Enterprise programme.

He mentored the students since September and assisted in judging the three teams that will represent the school in the city and county finals in March.

Students had the chance to order TY hoodies as keepsakes from their year and to foster unity during rehearsals for the upcoming TY production of 'The Lion King', scheduled for March 10th, 11th and 12th.
"The TY trade fair was a great success for the whole school community," said the spokesperson.
