The St Declan's Community College U14 boys hurling team travelled to SETU Arena to take part in the Brother Anselm tournament ran by DLS College.

A squad of hurlers from a County Waterford school excelled at a recent tournament in SETU Arena, winning their way through to the final of the competition.

The St Declan's Community College U14 boys hurling team travelled to the event on Tuesday, April 21, to take part in the Brother Anselm tournament which was organised by De La Salle College. 

A spokesperson for the school commented: "The lads played brilliant hurling all day and finished top of their group, which advanced them to the final where they played a strong CBC team from Cork."

"We put up a great fight in windy conditions, eventually losing out by five points," she added.

The spokesperson went on to comment: "Overall, it was a great days hurling with teams from Dublin as far as Kerry taking part."

She also extended praise to student, Colum Power, who received the shield Player of the Tournament award.

"A special mention to Colum Power who picked up the shield player of the tournament, congratulations," she said.
