Waterford school take time out for Gaisce adventure

Pupils from one secondary school in Waterford embarked on an adventure recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 20, 21 and 22, the Transition Year students in St Declan's Community College participated in their Gaisce Adventure Journey. 

Students left Clonmel and hiked over the Knockmealdown Mountains to Ballymacarbry hostel.

"Students had a fantastic few nights away and even developed their cooking skills with the pancakes being a major hit," said a spokesperson for the school.

"The students were in great form for the few days and deserved a much needed rest when they safely returned home," she added.

She went on to express gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the event a success.

"Thanks to all participating students and to the teachers who accompanied and organised the trip," she said.
