Waterford school enjoys productive sports trip to the Model County

The squad who represented St Declan's Community College at the WWETB annual cross-country event in County Wexford.

St Declan's Community College travelled to the Model County recently where some of the pupils enjoyed a very successful day out in Ferns, at the WWETB annual cross-country event. 

A school spokesperson commented: "Well done to all the participants."

The school's participants won 1st place team prizes for minor girls, minor boys, junior girls, junior boys, intermediate boys and senior girls. 

"They also retained the title of overall school prize," said the spokesperson.

It was a very productive day out in County Wexford with the Waterford students excelling in various events.

A number of students won individual medal for the school including: Minor Girls: 3rd - Lacey Veale;  Minor Boys: 3rd - Sean Veale; Junior Girls: 1st - Natalie Barry, 2nd -  Ali Lennon; Junior Boys: 1st - Colum Power, 2nd - Adam Casey; Intermediate Girls: 2nd - Áine Murphy;  Intermediate Boys: 1st - Jack Casey; Senior Girls: 1st - Meabh Counihan; 2nd - Sophie Doonan, 3rd - Abby Dunphy; Senior boys: 1st - Finlay McHardy.
