The children of Tramore Pottery will be one of 14 community groups showcasing their ‘postcard gardens’ at the Bord Bia Bloom festival taking place on the June Bank Holiday weekend in the Phoenix Park, Co. Dublin.
Community groups across Ireland submitted their stories and inspiration in the hopes of winning a place at Bloom 2026.
Tramore Pottery’s garden, ‘Seanchas and Sandhills’, is inspired by the inter-generational transfer of language, as well as Sandhills - a conservation area in the coastal town.
“Through their design, they hope to capture the power of community gardening to connect people, create belonging and celebrate the stories that shape local places,” said a Bloom press statement.
Clare Blount from Kids of Tramore Pottery said the group is relishing the event.
“The children have been so involved in creating elements of the garden and while we teach pottery skills to them, this also teaches them about the guardianship of local land,” she said.
The postcard gardens at Bloom are sponsored by Tirlán CountryLife.
“Every year, we’re so excited to see what these brilliant community gardeners are planning for their gardens,” said Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer Ann Meaney.
“It’s a great reminder about how powerful even a small space can be in telling a story.
“Gardens are for everyone, whether you’re green-fingered or a complete beginner."
