Waterford Planning: motor home park refused and 35 houses proposed for Tramore

Plans have been submitted for 35 houses at Newtown Park, Tramore.
35 houses are planned to be constructed at Newtown Park in Tramore.
A planning application for the development was submitted last week by applicant Cosmo Developments Newtown Limited.
Eight of these units will consist of two-storey, four-bed semi-detached houses and four units will consist of two-storey, four-bedroom semi-detached dual fronted houses.
12 two-storey, three-bedroom, semi-detached houses are also planned.
The remaining units range from two-bed to three-bed semi-detached and terraced houses.
Permission for the construction of a motor home park with a street food plaza, playground area and four glamping pods has been refused in Tramore.
The application for the development at Tramore Burrow was submitted last September by Aengus Rory Walsh.
The park was to fit 53 motor home pitches and included a one-storey surf club.
The planned street food plaza was to include eight street food trucks and an outdoor seating area.
A two-storey café building was also submitted in the plans.
Waterford City and County Council said they refused the application, “having regard to the mid-range future scenario flood mapping for the city and surrounding area, which takes account of the impact of climate change.”
A planning application has been submitted for six serviced glamping pods in Cheekpoint.
A project assessment document attached to the application, for Coolbunnia, Cheekpoint, states: “Glamping is a growing business in Ireland and it is intended to provide five two-berth pods fully equipped with toilet/shower, kitchen, breakfast bar, living area and stove with a small decking to the front.
“The pods will be situated behind mature trees with the plan to introduce further hard landscaping to increase the privacy for the guests, local area and the environment itself.
“Customers will benefit from comfortable accommodation providing benefits of your own private space, washing facilities, living area, eating area, cooking area etc.”
