Waterford man who died in road accident on Christmas Day to be laid to rest

The Waterford man who died in a road traffic accident on Christmas Day is to be laid to rest.
Alan Walsh of St John’s Park and late of O’Sullivan's Bar & Restaurant died when the e-scooter he was travelling on collided with a car at the junction of Manor Hill and Hennessy's Road.
His funeral will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Reposing at Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack St, Waterford on Saturday, January 3, from 12:30pm with vigil prayers and Rosary at 1:45pm.
His remains will be removed to the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, for Mass on arrival at 2:30pm.
Mr Walsh’s funeral cortege will walk from Ballytruckle Green on Saturday to Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, for Requiem Mass on arrival.
Burial will take place immediately afterwards in St. Otteran’s Cemetery, Ballinaneeshagh, Cork Road, Waterford.
The funeral mass will be livestreamed from the church website and a link can be found on RIP.ie.
Family flowers only, but anyone who wishes to do so can make a donation to Waterford Animal Welfare.
Mr Walsh is predeceased by his grandparents and his nephews Thomas and Jack.
He is survived by his son Sean, daughter Ava and will be sadly missed by his heartbroken mum Esther, dad Tommy, brothers Thomas and Mark, sisters Lorraine, Karen and Sarah, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, relatives, neighbours and friends.
