Waterford Lions Club will be holding a Christmas Hamper Appeal auction in the city this month.

The auction will take place in the Tower Hotel on Wednesday, December 10, at 7.30pm.

A spokesperson said there will be over 220 lots up for auction, which were donated by the business community of Waterford.

"It is a great night, where there are lots of items, bargains and the opportunity to buy some Christmas presents while at the same time helping people in need at Christmas time," said the spokesperson.

"The entry is free and this year we have Thomas Keighery, from RJ Keighery Antiques, who will be the auctioneer on the night," he added.

Bidding starts on Sunday, December 6, and everyone in the community is encouraged to support what is a very worthy cause.
