The Gardaí in Waterford are appealing for information relating to a large number of thefts and attempted thefts from vehicles that occurred over the last few days.
A spokesperson for the Gardaí told Waterford News & Star the incidents occurred overnight between Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4.
The following areas were affected: Lismore Park, Ardkeen Village, Maypark Lane and Bracken Grove. CCTV has been obtained and investigations are ongoing.
Two males in dark clothing were observed at one of the thefts and the Garda spokesperson said: "We would ask people to check video doorbell footage and report anything that may be relevant to the investigation. We would also encourage people to be extra vigilant when securing their vehicles and not to leave valuable items in the cars or vans."
"If you have a work vehicle consider enhancing the locks or improving the alarm on the vehicle if you have to store tools and other items overnight," said the spokesperson, before adding: "As always please report any people or vehicles that you think are acting suspiciously in your areas to Waterford Gardaí on 051 305300."
