There is a temporary suspension of Edmund Rice Bridge lifts in Waterford.

Members of the public and Waterford gardaí aided a person who was threatening to enter the water at Rice Bridge on Wednesday.

In a post on social media, Waterford Marine Search and Rescue said that two of their boats were deployed, as well as Waterford City Fire and Rescue and Waterford Ambulance Service, to offer assistance.

“We wish the person involved a speedy recovery,” wrote the group.

Waterford Marine Search and Rescue shared the following numbers and encouraged anyone who feels alone to reach out for help.
