Waterford family launch GoFundMe to help injured dad in US

Adam suffered an accident while on holiday.
A Waterford family have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help their father who suffered a serious injury in an accident while holidaying in the US.
Nicola Doyle set up the campaign for her husband Adam, who needed emergency surgery to remove two discs from his neck.
"Unfortunately, he has lost the use of both hands and we hope that his condition does not worsen," said a distraught Nicola, who turned to GoFundMe in desperation.
The family, including three young children, were visiting relations in California at the time, after saving up for several years for the holiday.
Adam was operated on at the Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California, while the family were able to stay with nearby relatives.
The incident has gravely impacted their finances. According to Nicola: "We are all supposed to be home back in Ireland, back to work and back to school.
"We currently have no source of income."
Adam has since been discharged from hospital and is staying with US relatives. He is due to stay as an outpatient for a number of weeks before being given the go-ahead to fly home to Ireland and continue his recovery.
Nicola added: "On top of all the worry and stress involved with his injury, we are now also worrying about the fact that we are currently unable to pay our house and car payments; we are desperate, please help my beautiful family.
"Any extra money raised will be donated to worthy charity i.e. homeless or national rehabilitation centre."
At the time of writing, the campaign has raised nearly €3,000 of the €5,000 target goal. To donate, go to gofundme.com.
