Waterford creative writers and poets wanted for this year’s Festive Star Christmas annual

Waterford News & Star Editor, Mary Frances Ryan, is currently compiling the Festive Star 2026, the Waterford News & Star Christmas Annual, which will feature a dedicated creative writing section.
There is no specific theme for this year’s edition; however, entrants may only submit a maximum of one short story or two poems per person, with entrants under 18 showcased in a separate young voices section.
Any local writers or poets who wish to submit a piece for consideration can send their work to festivestar@waterford-news.com no later than Tuesday, October 6 for consideration.
Each submission should include 'festive star creative writing' in the subject line, with the ‘young voices’ section specified for any entrants under 18 years of age.
The Festive Star will be published in November and in Waterford shops until Christmas.
