Waterford Chamber in conjunction with Waterford City & County Council and Waterford Local Enterprise Office is planning a trade delegation trip to Märkischer Kreis, in Germany.

The trip is being planned on the back of an invitation from the South Westphalian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and comes in the wake of an initiative last year that saw Waterford Chamber host a delegation from Märkischer Kreis businesses whose representative met with local business owners here.

In the latest Waterford Chamber newsletter it was noted that Märkischer Kreis is 'a highly industrial and innovation-led region in central Germany'.

"South Wesphalia, Germany's industrial heartland, offers a strategic opportunity for Waterford businesses seeking growth and diversification amid changing trade dynamics," said the Chamber in the newsletter to members.

The Chamber also pointed out that the region in question has a 30,000-member chamber network along with a stable, expansive market, thus presenting some positive opportunities for Waterford businesses.

"This mission will help Waterford companies build partnerships, explore supply chains and meet demand for high-quality goods and services," the Chamber informed its members.

The trip is being planned as part of Waterford Chambers desire to explore new opportunities in alternative markets following recent US tariff announcements.
