The members of one active retirement organisation in County Waterford are very open to new members joining.
The Tay and Mahon Valley Active Retirement Assocation is one of the busiest and most vibrant organisations of its type in the county.
The members enjoy regular get-togethers and participate in a wide range of fun, social initiatives.
One of those involved with organisation recalled fond memories of growing up in the Déise county in the 1950s.
"My confirmation suit cost £7," he said.
"I paid for it on the money I made catching rabbits and selling them," he added.
With regard to the regular meetings the organisation holds, he commented: "Our gatherings are social events; chat and cuppa are the most important part."
New members are always welcome to join the association and more information can be had by contacting Eileen on 087 9365035 or Tom on 087 9386209.
